Durham, N.C. – On Saturday, October 26, during the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Homecoming Parade and football game at 3:30 p.m., the Turner Law building will remain open as an early voting site for Durham County voters from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The ‘Ultimate Homecoming Experience’ festivities will be held at NCCU’s O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium. During this event, voters can access the Turner Law Building at the intersection of S. Alston Avenue and Cecil Street. Parking is available along Cecil Street, and voters can enter the building via the stairs located behind the Turner Law Building. An officer will be present on Cecil Street to facilitate campus access for voters.
Voters will be directed by security to enter the front of the Turner Law Building. Additional parking for individuals with disabilities will be located next to the Turner Law building.
Curbside voters will be instructed to follow Cecil Street to Lincoln Street, making a right on Nelson Street to join the curbside line.
The following street closures will be in effect for the day:
- Parade Street Closures (6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.):
Fayetteville Street from Timothy Avenue to E. Lawson Street - Game Street Closures (6:00 a.m. until traffic subsides):
Lawson Street from Fayetteville to Alston Avenue
Cecil Street from Fayetteville Street to Alston Avenue (except for voting traffic)
